Part of the Scripture reading for my morning devotions today was Psalms 37 & 38. Psalm 37 happens to be one of my favorite passages in the Bible and contains my favorite Scripture. I also like the way it lends itself to a progression in thought that is easy to see. Here is what I mean:
“Don’t worry about the wicked” (v. 1)
“Trust in the Lord and do good.” (v. 3)
“Take delight in the Lord” (v.4)
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. (v.5a)
“Trust him, and he will help you.” (v.5b)
“Be still in the presence of the Lord.” (v.7)
“Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper-it only leads to harm.” (v. 8)
And the finale: “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” (v.23)
Such simple words, but a lot to think about. I leave them with you today. I hope you will take some time to ponder and meditate on these verses and see how you can apply them. There is an old saying: “Let Scripture explain Scripture.” No comment from me. Just let the Scripture speak to your heart this today.

Amen, Bill! Let Scripture explain Scripture. These verses say it all.
Blessings!
Thanks Martha. That is my point exactly!
Love that Psalm too Bill, I will meditate on it today and take the words to heart. May the scripture speak volumes into my life today.
And it will because you pray and ask for it
I do like the progression of thought you provide. As I read through Psalm 37, I can still see a lot of meat on that bone, but you picked out the some good hunks for sure.
Yeah there is still a hunk of meat on that bone. Hmmm do I hear a couple of sermons in the future? 🙂
