D.L. Moody once said,
Don’t be watching your feelings. There is not one verse from Genesis to Revelation about being saved by feelings.
The truth is the use of feelings in reference to salvation is a tool of Satan. If he can get us to trust our feelings, or put our faith in our feelings, he can pull our focus off Jesus and trusting Him.
Erwin Lutzer wrote (and I totally agree with his statement):
Feelings are not facts. Depression is a terrible experience, but it does not change God’s love for us or the trustworthiness of His promises. (Running to Win-p.289)
Being rooted in God’s promises as opposed to our feelings is a whole different ballgame. They are as different as someone going to play hockey in a basketball uniform. Only God, and NEVER Satan, can bring hope where there is hopelessness, light where there is darkness, and peace where there is anxiety. Feelings or not, God is there. Don’t trust your feelings or emotions. Trust the never-changing God and the truth of His Word.

Amen Bill, our faith and belief in God has to be based and rooted in trust and love of God’s never failing word, not in feelings.
Thanks Gail and so true.
From Martha: For the first time ever, I was asked to prove I was a human before I could leave my reply on your blog. I’m so sorry, but I must not quite understand the question as I couldn’t get past the “fire wall.” If this continues to happen, I’ll simply have to comment to you privately. You are so right that faith has nothing to do with feelings.
I’m sorry to hear this Martha. I’ll have to check with Ryan and Amanda to find out why it is doing this. Thanks for the comment. I totally agree.
